ODDS AND ENDS.
Train to Cambridge Show, from Te Aroha arrived nearly an hour late, much to the annoyance and inconvenience of sight-seers. The long-looked-for rain has appeared at last, and the whole country is jubilant. Mr Dnnningham, engineer for Messrs John Chambers and Son, has made a capital job of the electrical extension plant, Rifleman Geo. McKee shot up well at the Trentham meeting. Railway excursions to Ngaruawahia regatta and Paeroa races on 17th March.
Messrs O’Grady and Goodfellow’s monster Devon boar was much admired by pig-breeders at the Cambridge Show. The boar carried off first honours. Some of his progeny changed hands at £3 a-piece. . Annual meeting of Piako Mounted Rifles to-night. The meeting at the Waihou Hall last evening was well attended. Everything is progressing favourably for the approaching Waihou Athletic Sports. A monster gathering is expected.
