Kauangahape, Saturday. Ivan Hop Battery t A parcel of ore from the old Mammoth claim has just been cleaned up at this Battery (for Mr J. I^iddell), but I am sorry to say the result is not up to expectations, it proving barely payable. White and party (tributers, Ivanhoe s*nd Truro), have a good sized parcel in the Mill, crushing of which will be startei to-day. Chris tchui'ch Co.'s Battery: This plant is kept steadily going on quarlz from the Co.'s mine, bpt whether payable or otherwise, I am unable to ascertain. ICenil worth : (Moore's Tribute) : This party have a considerably tonagp of ore broken out, but I learn that the block is almost exhausted. Shepherd's Tribute : A largp parcel of very rich ore is being carted from this tribute section to the Oassel Company's plant, Jvarangahnke, where it will be furnaced and put through the dry crusher, it is expected to turn out richer than the parcol o.f forty tons sold to, Mr H. C Wick, sometime ago, which averaged by a.ssay over LIOO person. Adeline Amalgamated : I hear that there is a likelihood pf this Company starting operations again. Very little work has been done in any part of the large area whiph is held by this Company, ul though they own some of the best ground in the distiict. Imperial : In this mine a gp.od si^ed reel' is bo ing driven on, which prospects very well.
Gorge lloa.l: The contractors (Messrs Kelly and Polton), are making capital Imadway with, this work, the road being now formed to the bhiif on the township end, besides a good many chains of earthwork completed ou the Halm side. It is expected to bo open for traffic by Christmas, New School : Romp time ago the residents of Kaniniruhaktt petitioned the Board of Education for a full-time school, and off ei ing a contiibutiori of L 25 The offer was, accepted, and the money hav-'n^- lu'lmi j>aid over to the Board, tenders will be invited for the erection of building in the course of 11 few days.
