MR T. H. IVEY.
Mr T. H. Ivey, after a residence amongs ue of about twenty years, during which period he lias been managei of the Auckland branch of the Bank of New South Wales, leaves here on Tuesday next to assume the management of the head office of the Bank in Sydney, to which high position he has lately been promoted. This evening he will be entertained by a number of gentlemen at a farewell dinner at the Northern Club, when a large company is expected, to be present. Next Monday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, at the Chamber of Commerce, New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Queen-street, Mr Ivey will be presented with an address and sourenir from his friends and well-wisher?. Captain Colbeck, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, will preside on the occasion, Mr Iveys successor is Mr Robert Collings Tennent, formerly manager of the Wanganui and other branches of the Bank of New South Wales. | The staff of the Bank ot New South Wales presented Mr Ivey with an album of New Zealand scenery, accompanied by the following address :—: — T. H. Ivey, Esq. Sir, — On the termination of your long management of this branch toassumea more important post at Head Office, we the members of the staff desire to express our sense of the courtesy and kindly feeling evinced by you in your relations with us, and while regretting on our own account your severance from this branch congratulate you on your promotion and on the recognition of your abilities shown thereby. We wish you every success in your new sphere, and ask your acceptance as a small token of our regard of the accompanying album of New Zealand scenery. With heartiest good wishes for the welfare of Mrs Ivey, yourself and family, We are, Dear Sir, Your 3 Sincerely, Ten signatures. Auckland, 21st May, 1889. Mr Ivey, in acknowledging the address, spoke of the cordial relations that have existed among the staff, and wished them all success and prosperity.
