Ml3srs Alfred Buckland and Sons* Weekly Rbport.— At the Hay market during the past week hay has ranged froni from 2s 6u to 3s 9d, the ruling prices being from 3s to 3s 6d per cwt ; potatoes, £2 15s to £3 ; carrots, 35s per ton ; oats, 2s lOd per bushel. At the horse sale on Friday asn aller muster of horse stock than usual maintained late values. Unbroken draught stock, in low condition, ranged from £6 to £8 10s ; a useful riding horse, £10 10s ; strong trap horse, £13 10s. At the hide and skin sale on 'I uesday both hides and skins were pitched in full number. Messrs Hunter&Nolan's Weekly Repojrt. — Horse feed, seed, grain, etc.: Supplies have been moderate, and the demand steady for torasje, trat little has been done in seed grain; and, owing to the latenes of the season, grass and clover seeds have found a limited number of buyers. We quote: Feed oats, from 3s to 3s 3d per bushel ; maize. 3s to 3s 6d ; bran, £5 10s to £6 per ton ; oaten chaff. £3 10s per per ton. Rye Gra-^s: Sellers at from 4s to ss; cocksfoot, 5s to 6s per bushrl. Horses: A demand for those of a good stamp has existed, and buyers of haiks and light han ess horbe* could not be supplied, and the auction sales demonstrated that really good draught hoives are saleable at something like former values. The Durham Yards wore fairly supplied on Friday; bidding was steady hroughout, and for some lots was spirited. Heavy draughts ranged from £12 to £36; hacks, from t5 10s to £11; light harness horses, from £7 to £10 10d ; spring-cart horses, norn £6 to £1S 10s. Wool, hides, skins, and tallow : About the usual quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and there "was keen competition, particularly for heavy ox hides. We quote: Heavy ox, from 4}d to s}d per lb ; mediums, 3d to 3{d : cow, 2}d to 3}d ; calfskins, 3^d to 4]d per lb : sheepskins, 2s 6ii to 3s 9d each ; pelts, Is 4d to 2s ; tallow, 14s 6d to 17s 6d ; rough fat, ljd per lb. Cattle Ihe market has been well supplied with dairy and lat stock ; but few stores have been brought forward. Values have not materially altered tor any clas". There was a large muster at t'>e Newmarket Yards on Tuesday. Quite an average number of dairy cows were yarded, and the butchers' pens were full of fat beasts ; but few stores were offered. Dairy cows were w anted, and sold at from £4 to £6 17s 6d. Fat beasts were steadily competed for throughout the sale, a large proportion oeing of prime quality ; prices ranged from 14s to 17s per 1001b for steers, and from 12s to 15s per 1001b for cows. Sheep: There was rather a short muster of sheep at Newmarket on Tuesday, and all went to the butcher. Wethers sold at from 12s to 14s 6d each ; ewes. 10s 3d to 12s ; lambs, 8s to 11s 9d. Pigs: But few yarded. Prices ranged from 2<d to 3d per lb, live weight.

Messps Arthur and Budtjle's Weekly Report. — A fairly busy week in all departments. Eight sales by auction have been held. Monday : Sale of unredeemed pledges from Mr J. Bunyan, pawnbroker, Grey-sfcreet. The attendance was very large throughout, nnd bidding brisk. The sale continued for upwards of eight hours without a break. Everything sold at good prices. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday : Sa'es of poultry, produce, fruit, groceries, etc., were held at the mart. There was a good attendance at each and fair competition. Tuesday : Sac of household furniture, etc., on the premises. Hobson-street. A fair attendance ; prices were in favour of the buyer. Wednesday : Sale of household furniture, etc., at the mart. A good number v ere present, but few buyers ; but little fold and at low prices. Thursday : Sale of household lurniture, etc., at a private residence, Ponsonby Road. The attendance was good, and the result satisfactory. The sale of drapery, clothing, boots, bootmaker's plant, etc., at the mart passed off very satisfactory ; good attendance, and good prices obtained. There has been a fair supply of produce generally. Pototoes only in full supply. Good local bacon, butter, fresh eggs, and iirst-class cheese are in demand far beyond ihe supply. Honey in small tins is wanted. Onions are scarce. Fruir has dropped off in supply ; prices have advanced, there is good demand both to local consumption and for shipping to S3 dnev and to the South. Some growers have held ba< k too long : their fruit being too ripe, has come to hand in bad order. Poultry were entered in good number, and all sold at fair pries.i es. Fowls about the same as the two last weeks. Ducks brought a better price, many were first-class birds. Geese sold well, also turkeys. Pigs were in better demand. Mr alex. Aitkens Market Report for the week ending May 18.— Four Bales by auction of produce, fruit, poultry, etc., have been he'd with satisfactory results. On Friday the usual weekly sale was very largely attended, with spirited competition to the end. The attendance was unprecedented in t oint of numbers, and an unusually large business was the result. Potatoes have come to hand in smaller quantity, but values have not improved. Onions coming freely to hand, values unchanged. Pumpkins sold at somewhat better prices. Melons are still low. Carrots sell readily, but values are low. Vegetables were in large supply and sold at satisfactory prices. Wheat, oats, and maize have moved off freely at late quoiations. Local bacon and hams are coming in freely and tind ready sale at late quotations ; Canterbury, slow of sale. Eggs, increased supply, and values are lower. Fresh butter : A. pood * quantity received, values unchanged. Corned butter in good supply ; second-class has moved freely for local trade, but it is yet too early to force the sale of prime quality; values will be higher. Chee3e of prime quality is scarce ; on y second-class on hand ; values unchanged. Fruit is still coming to hand in large quantity, and has mot with better demand at satisfactory rates; fully one thousand, cases have been quitted this week, and the quality, on the whole, has been good. Pearp have cold ata better average price; apples, keeping kinds, have also causpd keen competition.
