The quantity of wheat and flour for the United Kingdom is 2,292,000 quarters, and for the Continent 348,000 (garters. Bank ot New Zealand shares are quoted at £10 : Bank of New South Wales, £70 ; Union Bank of Australia, £61. At the opening of the wool sales prices were fully maintained. Copper is recovering in price, and is now quoted at £78. The copper sj ndicate is offering 10s less. A cargo of Java sugar has been sold at 16s 3d. At the wool sales the selection is better. Principal merinos are 5 per cent, lower than the closing rates in December. At present there appears no probability of improvement.
