DRAUGHTS ITEMS.
The draughts match for the championship of the Invercargill Club for the season resulted in favour of Mr Heath, with the capital score of 21 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses, Mr J. Whilaker being a good second with 20 wins, 5 draws, and 3 losses ; Mr J. Smith third. There is some talk of holding an Intercolonial Draughts Tournament in connection with the forthcoming New Zealand Exhibition in Dunedin. Nothing definite has been arranged so far, but the Committee of the Dunedin Draughts Club have the matter under consideration, and steps will be taken to get the opinion of prominent players on the subject.
