Fives hundred cWvisheg made an attack on Fort Kharmonssa, which was gariisoned by two hundred Egyptian troops. The latter offered stubborn defence, and were able to keep the attacking force at bay until relieved by the arrival of troops from Wadyhalfa. The dervishes had two hundred killed. The loss of the Egyptians was sixteen killoil end thirty wounded.
