Russian Military Preparations.
The " Political Correspondent " confhms the repoi t of Russia™ military activity on the frontier, and asserts that the agricultural and commercial crisis is increasing throughout Empire. As an instance, it mentions the fact that a bank at Moscow recently put up at auction 460 estates for which it was impossible co pay interest on the mortgages. A number of young naval and military officers have recently been severely punished by court martial for taking* part in an alleged revolutionary conspiracy. The offence consisted in advocating in debate the advantages ot another governmental system over the present autocratic one. They have been sentenced to several years haul labour in. the mines of Siberia. One committed suicide.
