OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
The first sUttttnry meeting of the above Council was held in tho County chambers, Pucrou, on Wednesday last, for the purpose n£ electing a chairman for tho ennuinft three years, the following members being present, viz., Crs Nichollf, Corbett, Strange, Moore, Denrlo, R-ibson. Nash, and Quinti, Mr N. Kenny, County Clerk, presided, and on the motion of Cr Moore, seconded by Cr Strange, Cr Nicholls was unanimously elected to the chair for the ensuing term. Cr Nioholls thanked tho Council for the honour conferred upon him, nnd said he hoped they' would all work harmoniously together, untl us for himself he would always endeavour to exorcise his powers us chairman in tho right direction. The next business was tho appointment of the fol lowing gentleman to, act as a Finance 'Vumittee, viss.* Crs Corbett (chairman), Kobson, fitnmge, , Nash, and Nicholls. On tho motion of O Qumn, it was resolved that the whole Council form' a Board of Work*, with Or Corbelt as olminuun, and that Cr UoWn and the County clinirman be authorised to sign all cheques. After fixing the 4ay of meeting, which is to be at 3 }>.m. on the first Saturday in each month, the Council atty'ourtwd.
