THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE. The Exhibition not to Re open.

London, November 17. The Committee of the Imperial In stitute and Executive Commiseionerß of the Exhibition have decided not to reopen the Exhibition in June next, and the Jubilee ceremony will therefore be confined to tho laying of the foundation stone of the Institute, after which the building will be proceeded with. The bulk of the imperishable exhibits which have been given to the Institute will be stored until the building- is ready for their reception. It is hoped that a million pounds will be raided as an endowment. The buildings will cost half a million. The Committee of the Imperial Institute propose that if the Institute is located at Whitehall, tha city scheme for the Colonial Museum should be united with the lnetituto, but if the latter place at Kensington, then the Museum should be a separate concern. It is suggested that the colonies should occupy tho ground floor and Great Britain the upper floors. The cost of the building will be three hundred thousand pounds. 41,000 feet of space have been applied for in the Jubilee Exhibition. Lord Randolph Churchill has intimated that a grant of £1,000 aeked for to aid the Art representation at the Exhibition will probably bo made. The silver ingots exhibited at the Colinderieß by New South Wales have been sold and realised £2,600. The South Australian rocks and foseila were presented to Natural History Museum. The Victorian exhibit, about which no directions have been received, are to be returned, Sir Oeo. Berry asking for instructions as to whether the fittings and decorations of the Victorian Court «»re to be shipped to Adelaide. The Prince of Wales expressed great concern at the impossibility of re-opening the Exhibition, but it was felt difficult to preeerve exhibits in tho preeent building. All the courts are now busily engaged in packing their exhibits.
