Three-fourths of Charleston Destroyed. NEW YORK, September 2.
Latest accounts regarding the earthquake atCharleston state that fully three-fourths of the town have been destroyed. The population have been driven out of doors, and many <| have suffered great privations. Shocks of earthquake continue to be felt along the seaboard. London, September 3. — During the earthquake shocks in Georgia and the two CaroHnas many mud geysers broke out. The superstitious terror of the negro population, aroused by these phenomena, gave rise to many shocking scenes.
