THE R.M.S. ALAMEDA. Three and A-Half Days to SydneyFastest Passage on Record Auckland, Dec 18.
It appears that Captain Morse, commander of the R.M.S. Alameda, made no erroneous calculation when he said that he expected to make the 'run from this port to Sydney in about 3£ days. The Alameda left this port a little before 5 a.m. on Monday morning, and we now learn that she reached Sydney Heads at 8.15 p.m. yesterday, the voyage having occupied close" 3 days 15 hours, equal to 15 knots per hour throughout the voyage. ,Tho nearest approach; to this record was made byktHe ißotoniia.han"a i Rotoni ia.han"a wtien "she ran'^against the, City of 4j3ydndy and Seat that 1 steamer easily,,'her^pa^s'age having 3 days 22 hours. \V s
