United.— A contract has been let for driving 50ft on the reef which averages 5 feet in thickness, and is to be broken out from wall to wall— the price being 15s pot foot. This lode is composed of stone precisely similar in general character and appearance to that obtainable from the Itosemont mine, and it is- undoubtably identical with the southern continuation of the same lode, Kosemont. — There is no remarkable cTiange to note in this mine where driving north and south on the reef, averaging feet in thickness, is still in progress> and the stone coining to hand from both W( wirings is of first class quality. Nil Desperandum, — From this mine tbefre is nothing new to report) the crosscut ia still being advanced eastward, and it ifould be no surprise to the manager to .meet with the Rosemont reef at any moriQent.
