OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.

A Mfeßtfiim of the above was held on Saturday last at Paeroa. Present i Crs Cock (chairman)) Corbett, Moore* Nicholls Strange^ YValsh, Butler, and Humphreys. The Council first met in committee at 1 p.m. in the Public Hall, and the general Council meeting had been fixed to commence at 3 o'clock, but* owing to several weighty matters tinder discussion in committee it was adjourned till 5 30, and Tthe Public Hall being engaged for the evening by a theatrical troupe) wad held in the large dhiing-rooui at the Criterion Hotel. Minutes of the previous meeting were first read and conirmed. . If there Mas anything that required explaining, he should be very happy to clear it up, or if it really could be shown that it would be fer the benefit of the Council he would be quite willing: to resign.
