So fur as the eiectionsjhave yet gone, 71 have been returned in the Tory interest; in the Liberal, 50 ; in the Radical, 10 ; as independent, 2 ; and as Parnellitea, 5. In London tho Tories wero chiefly returned. Edinburgh, Derby, Portsmouth, York, and Ipswich roturned all Liberals ; Brighton, Devonport, Southampton, and Plymouth, all Torios. Liverpool returned eight Tbries and one Parnellite; Sheffield and Leeds roturned three Tories ; Bristol and Salford roturned two Torios. Among those olected are Mr H. Labouchore for Northampton, and Mr C Bradlaugh for Northampton ; Mr W. J. Marriott for Brighton, the Hon. A. T. Mundella for Sheffield, Sir W. Y. Harcourt for Derby, Sir Michael Hicks-Beach for Gloucestershire, the Hon. R. Bourke for King's Lynn, Mr C. Stuart- Vv ortley for Sheffield, Mr 0. Ashmead-Bartlett for Eye, the Hon. G. J. Goschen for Chatham, Mr Powell and Mr Howard Vincent Among those defeated aro tho Hon. H. Childcrs for Pontefract, the Hon. C. J. S. Lefevio foi Reading, Lord A. Russell for Tavistock, and Mr J. Holms for Hackney. The Hon. Sir Charles Dilke has been returned for Chelsea by a majority of 176. There is an enormous increase in tho Tory vote at Birmingham. Mr Honnickor Heaton, of Sydney, who contested the Canterbury election in the Tory interest, Ins been returned by a majoiity of 970 Tho Tories still continue to gain the advantage. Commenting on tho elections, the "Times" states that the recent attitude taken up by the Hon. Mr Chamberlain has destroyed the chance of the Liberals Mr J. Kynaston CVpss, of Bolton, has been rejected. Up to the present timo So' Liberal and 88 Conservatives have been elected. Lord Randolph Churchill has been returned for Paddington by a large majority. Sir Michael Hicks Beach, Sir Assheton Cross, and Sir "YYm. Harcourt have secured seats ; while Mr Childers, Mr Shaw Lefevre, and Sir Henry Drummond Wolff have been defeated. The Liberals have carried the wholo of the Birmingham constituencies as well as the Portsmouth seat, while Conservative candidates have beon returned for Liverpool, Blackburn, Bury St. Edmunds, Exeter, Coventry, Cheltenham, Croydon, Colchester, Cambridge, Launco3ton, Plymouth, Tauntan, Warrington, Rocnester, Stalybridgo, Durham, Brighton, Pontefract, Reading, Salford, Stockport, Hackney, and Chmtchurch. In the City of London electorate (one member), the Right Hon. if. (I. Hubbard and Alderman Fowler each polled the same number of votes, viz., 91. The Conservative candidates have been generally successful in the London and suburban electorates. In tho provinces, Liberals have been elected for York, Salisbury, Boston, and Edinburgh ; while Conservatives have beon successful at Bolton, Winchester, Norwich, Nuneaton, and Hull. Leeds, out of five seats, returns three Conservatives, while for Sheffield tho following live members have been returned : —Messrs Colleridge, Mundella, Howard Vincent, Ashmead Bartlett, and Stuart Wortley. Mr Gladstone has been re-elected for Midlothian, and Siv Lyon Playfair for Edinburgh and St. Andrew's Universities. Mr John Henniker Heaton and Mr Howard Vincent have been elected, while the Hon. Lyulph Stanley and Mr Kynaston Cross have been defeated.

London, November 27. Mr O'Dogherty has been elected for ono oi tho Moath electorates. According to the latest returns the Con\atives have returned 111 members and the Liberals 110. For Manchester five Conservatives and one Liberal have been returned, Sir James Fergusson securing one of the seats. For the Marylebone district two Conservative members have been returned, including Lord Charles Beresford. The Conservative party also secured a victory at Westminster, Hampstead, Greenwich, Oxford, and Wakefield. Mr Howard Spensley. lato of Victoria, has been elected for Finabury, the other two seats being gained by the Conservatives. The Liberals have been successful at Halifax, Cheater, and Rochdale, Mr Potter being re-elected for the latter place. The old members have been re-elected for Middlesbrough and Falmouth, the Right Hon. Gavendish Bentinck being defeated at the latter place. Sir Thomas Brassey has beon re-elected for Hastings, and Mr Macarthur for Leicester. The Press Association agent, whose telegram shows the most Conservative bias, say S: —The latest returns show that Leicester and St. Pancras have returned Liberals, and Lambeth and Stockport Conservatives. Mr Jacob Bright has been rejected. The state of the parties at present is :—Conservatives, 111; Liberals, 107; Parnellites, 8. The Metropolitan constituences have returned 28 Conservatives and 17 Libex-als. During the elections at Nottingham, party feeling ran very high, and culminated in a riot during which fifty persons were in-

jured. London, November 29. The Hon. James Lowfcher and the Hon. Rupert Carrington have been defeated, and Messrs W. E. For :ter, P. Ryland, Selator Booth,H.Cbaplin,S!?ChancelloroftheDuchy of Lancaster; R. E. Webster, AttorneyGeneral, and R. Chamberlain have been elected, Bradford and Islington have oach returned three Liberals. The returns from Ireland show eight Conservatives elected, and in Scotland three Conservatives have been returned.

Messrs Parnell and Healoy were elected by huge majorities for Cork constituencies, but a protest has been lodged against Mr Parneli on the ground of his having been wrongly described on the ballot papers The latest returns show that the Conservatives have wrested seventy-two seats from the Liberals, and the latter have ousted Conservatives in twenty-nine instances. Conservative cadidates have been elected for Shrewsbury, Northern Kingston, and Southern Kensington electorates, while the Liberals secured Paterson and Clapham. Mr O'Dogherty has been elected for one of the Meath electorates.

London, November 28 The Liberals claim 12§,the Tories 127, and the Parnellifces are 18. Mr Gladstone has been returned by a majority of 4,600, and the Marquis of HartiDgton by 1,800. Sir William Macarthur, who sat in the last Parliament for Lambeth, has been defeated, being at the bottom of the poll. The Hon. Evelyn Ashley has also been defeated. Glasgow and Nottingham have returned all Liberals. Belfast returned Tories. Mr Justin McCarthy and Mr T. Sexton have been defeated. Mr O'Doherty has been returned unopposed, as was Mr Berry, for Belfast.

London, November 29. The election returns now give 155 Conservatives and 167 liberals. Mr Gladstone and Lord Hartington have each been elected by large majorities, Mr Parnell and Mr Healy have been returned amongst the members for Cork. At Glasgow the whole seven seats have been gained by Liberals. Conservatives have been returned for the following places :— Scar borough, Wednesbury, Isle of Wight, Denbigh district, Tynemoutb, one seat each ; Buckinghamshire three and Cumberland four, while for Herefordshire two, and Northumberland four Liberals were elected.

London, November 30. The London constituencies returned 37 Conservatives and 25 Liberals, For Bradford and York three Liberal members have been returned, the Right Hon. W. E. Foster being re-elected by a large majority. Tbe latest returns show that the Conservatives have gained the day in 116 boroughs, and the Liberals in 107 boroughs. Sir Kichard Cross has been returned for Lancashire. So far 180 Conservatives have been elected ; 182 Liberals, and 29 Parnellites. Mr John Cowen and Mr John Morley have been elected, and Mr Wharton has been rejected.
