RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Before H. Kenrick, Esq, R.M. Tuesday, November 13, 1885.

An order prohibiting the sale of liquor to Muria Kepa in Te Aroha or Waiorongomai for twelve months was granted. J. Buchanan, (trustee in estate of E. Moore) v Wm. McLean (judgment summons) £4 12s sd, Plaintiff applied to have an order made for payment. After having heard the evidence on plaintiff's side His Worship refused to make an order against defendant, although it was shown ho had been in almost con stunt work. George Gapes vF. Booth, (judgment summons), £3 4s 6d, udj turned for 14 days. M. Hotchen v S Spfilding, claim £3 17s Bd, judgment for plaintiff with costs 14s. Wm. Wilson v 11. T. Rowe, claim £4 13s Bd. Judgment for amount with costs, 6s. Joshua Cuff v P. Quinlan, claim £3 19.s 2d, judgment for amount and costs 6s. Same v P. T. Junnen claim £2 15s foi professional services rendered, adjourned for one month. W. Wilkinson v J, Squirrel I application to have evidence taken re a claim of £1 12s 8d for goods supplied. Mr J. A. Miller for plaintiff. After some very voluminous evidence had been gone into, Mr Miller produced a letter written by defendant, which brought the case to a speedy conclusion, as defendant said he had quite forgotten ever having written such a letter, but could not' dispute the claim having seen it. Costs of the day were allowed plaintiff.
