London, Nov. 10. Mr Stead, who was found guilty on the charge of [the abduction of the girl, Lily Armstrong, has admitted the justice of the judge's verdict. London, November 10. — Sentence was passed to-day on the prisoners found guilty of abduction or conspiracy in connection with the Armstrong case. Mr Stead, Editor of the "Pall Mall Gazettee," waa found guilty of abduction, and sentenced to three years' imprisonment, while Mr Jacques, of the same journal, was found guilty of conspiracy, and received one year. Rebecca Jarrett and Madame Mourey were each sentenced to six months imprisonment in the latter case with hard ■ labour. i

(special to press association.) London, November 10. Messrs Stead, Jacqus, Mourey, and Jarrett have been found guilty. The Judge censured Mr Stead for distorting facts, publishing filthy particulars, and disgracing journaliam. The entire press endorse the verdict and rejoice at the removal of the national stain .

[SPECIAL TO MELBOURNE "AGE."] London, November 2.— The sum of £5,000 has been subscribed by the public for the defence of Mr Stead. A farther sum of CI,OOO is required. It is asserted that a limited liability com pany is in existence whose business consists in the exportation of giils to the Continent for immoral purposes. London, November 3. ~^r Stead, editor of the " Pall Mall Gazetr ," igainst whom proceedings have been taken in connection with the alleged abduction of the girl Lily Armstrong, has admitted that the statements made by Mrs Jarrett, who was called as a witness for the defence and made some astounding assertions, are not to be relied on.
