A petHion bearing 2280 signatures in favour of granting rotes for Licensing Committees to all male resicLnts, has been sent to Wellington to-day. The Racing Club has deferred cons'deration of the tenders for the Grand Stand. The lowest tender waa £10,430, being £4000 above the estimate. They still think of having the work done on the proposed plan.
