SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A special meeting of the To Aroha School Committee, convened bv the Ch.ninmn, was hold at Mr. (VHalloran's on Mondavov<>nin<>; last, tho 1Stl» inst., fm (lie purpose of Liking into consideration the steps to be taken in opening the new Schoolhouse, and the desirability of giving the children a treat on t!u^ occasion. There were present :—: — Moss.mk La very (C'lnirmin), Cocks, Allwood, Allen, Lawless, and O'llalloiau.
EXTKNSION OF TIME. A letter was received f nun M Colcbrook, contractor for the Sohoolhouse, asking for an oxtonsian of time and requesting the Committee to recommend the same to the Board of Education. The reason assigned was the great dillicuHy that he had met with in obtaining timber. On the motion of M. Corks, seconded by M. Lawless, it was resolved that the request be recommended to the Board as worthy of consideration.
