GENTLEMEN v. PLAYERS. By Cable. — Press Association. — Oopt/right. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, Sept. 8. The match, Gentlemen v. Players, at Scarborough, was drawn. The Players' team consisted of 10 of the team for Australia, with Holmes. Players in their first inning made 210, Wilson taking three for 43 and Douglas four for 75. In their second innings Players lost seven for 326, and declared (Hobbs 133, Hearne 05 not out). Gentlemen, who included Douglas, Fender, Wilson, and Bcttington, made 270 in their first innings, and 131 for nine wickets in their second innings (Chapman 1(11). Parkin took four wickets for 88 runs, Howell two for 70, and Woolley two for 79. Hearne has completed 2000 runs ami taken 100 wickets, and is the player to perform the "double" this season.
