CANADIAN CHALLENGER. A SCHOONER RIGGED YACHT. By Calif. — Press Association.—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. <Heo. Sept. 0, n.ir.) NEW YORK, Sept. 4. Mr A, C_. Ross, the challenger for the America Cup, interviewed, said the people of Canada were enthusiastic about the challenger. He did not think it would he difficult to raise the money required. The yacht will be schooner rigged and of fisherman type, and entirely of Canadian design and destruction, and manned and commanded by Canadian fishermen. It will be able to go off-shore in any weather. Mr Ross explaine*! that the idea of employing Mr Charles E. Nicholson (who designed Shamrock IV.) to ; design the yacht was changed, because Mi - Nicholson insisted on too Inwch of the work on the challenger being done in England.
