(A. & N.Z.) NEW YORK, September 2. The National Board of Farm Organisations at Columbus rejected a plan for the formation of a National Wheat Pool controlled by the farmers. It was pointed out that such a combination would be contrary to the Sherman Anti-Trust Law, and it would be wiser to market the products eo-operatively. PRICE OF NEWSPRINT. (A. * N.Z.) NEW YORK, September 2. The International Paper Company announces that newsprint in rolls during the last quarter of 1920 will be Sl3O per ton, which is the same price as the Canadian Paper Export Association charges. The opening of the wool sales season is fixed for October 4, in Sydney and Adelaide, and for a later date in Melbourne. UNION BANK OF AUSTRALIA. Auttralian and A'.Z. Cable Association. (Rec. Sept. 4, 9.20) LONDON, Sept. 2. The Union Bank of Australia has declared an Interim dividend of 40/- per share, with a bonus of 12/-. PRODUCE AND WOOL. Australian and .Y.Z. Cable Association. (Rec. Sept. 4, 9.20) LONDON, Sept. 2. Wheat is quiet. Australian parcels on passage, 96/-. Flour is in good demand. Beans are quiet. Peas are steady. Sugar is unchanged. New Canadian cheese Is quoted at 156/to 162/-. At the wool sales merinos were unchanged. There were occasional withdrawals of inferior sorts. Crossbrcds were firm. Ashlev Downs 25d. The Bradford market is not reflecting the activity of the London sales, and business on the new basis Is practically nil. Topmakers, generally, are maintaining their quotations. TALLOW. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated September I.—Tallow: At the weekly auctions 1375 casks were offered »nd 277 sold. The demand was chiefly for edible descriptions of tallow. Cabled advice has been received from the London house of Booth and Co. stating that at the tallow sales held on September 1 the demand was again slow. Seven hundred and thirty-four casks were offered, and of these 277 were sold. Prices declined on an average about il per ton from last week. PROPERTY SALE. Jones, McCrostie Co., Ltd., sold by public auction in their rooms to-day, on account of Mr W. Devenlsh Mean's, "section of 27 perches, situated on Clifton Hill, in the Belle. Vue Estate, to Mr J. W. K. Lawrence, for £110: section of about 27 perches, situate on Clifton Hill, to Mr G. H. Waller, for £135, and section or 20 perches, situate on Clifton Hill, to Mr N. Westerman, for £4O. TO-DAY'S POULTRY MARKET. J. B. Mcrrett and Co. report a large entry Of poultry to-day. Prices were good. Table chickens realised 8/6 to II 9, hens 6- to 11/10, ducks 8/- to 13 0, pullets 9.'- to 17-, geese. 9/- to 12/-, turkeys 28/- to 62/-, all per pair. THE EGG "MARKET. Eggs are coming forward more freely, and the demand is good. Canterbury Egg Circle's first grades are 2/-, seconds 1/10 per dozen.
