DARFIELD CHILDREN'S BALL.
i On Thursday afternoon a most successful juvenile fancv dress party was held in the Darfield' Memorial Hall, which was very artistically decorated for the occasion with red and yellow twisted streamers, whilst the dainty and attractive arrangement of the tea tables caused great, delight amongst the children. About SO young people, gaily attired, participated in the Grand March and subsequent games and dancing, the proceeds of which were I devoted towards the local I'hinket , Society. The function was arranged by I the Ladies' Hockey Olub, whose social organiser (Miss Jarmau), together with I the committee, are to he congratulated on the result achieved. Prizes were presented to the following successful competitors by Mrs 11. A. Knight:--For girls: Best fancy dress, M. Selby (Fairy); most original dress, .1. Trickett (Christmas Tree); cheapest dress, N. Sim (The Press). For boys; Pest fancy dress, J. Redmond (Sundowner); most: original dress, It. Matthews (Tlumpty Dumpty); cheapest dress, R.
