WOOLSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The Woolston Horough Council met last evening, when there were present :—Messrs C. Hill (Mayor), H. McLachlan, J. C. Hobson, G. S. White, T. E. RadclifTe, D. Mcßae, W. H. Blazey, G. T. Owen and J. E. Cant. The Works Committee recommended that the offer of Mr A. Clark in connection with the widening of land in Victoria Street be accepted, and that the renumbering of the houses in Ferry Hoad be proceeded with. The Electricity Committee reported that three houses had been wired during the month, and orders were in Hand to wire seven more. By arrangement with the Woolston Fire Board, the council's men were running the wires for the new Are alarm system. The financial statement submitted showed a debit hank balance of £2091! 18/1, and upon the temporary loans account £02515/11. The Palmerston Borough Council wrote asking support for a universal Saturday half-holiday. As the council recently declared in favour of a universal Saturday holiday the letter was received.
