At the Oxford Magistrate’s Court, before Mr V. O. Day, S.M., the mcnt of Agriculture (Mr A. I’. Young) j conducted a number of prosecutions under the Apiaries Act, 1908. For keeping bees in other than movable frame hives, If. Tjlmrlck was fined 40/and costs. J. Frick was fined 40/- and 'costs for a like offence. P, Garlick, who had since destroyed a number of box hives, was lined 20/- and costs for the offence. For keeping bees in box hives, F. W. Englebrecht, who pleaded eiek■ness, was fined 20/- and costs. Eleven degrees of frost were recorded sit Ashburton on Tuesday, soul 12 degrees Just night.
