At fhe mooting of the Lyttelton Borough Council last evening the Mayor, Mr W. T. Lester, stated that at the "request of Rev. W. T. Todd lie had unveiled the previous evening in the Presbyterian Church, a tablet inscribed to the memory of the, soldiers of the congregation who had fallen in the War. He much regretted that so few of the councillors were present on the occasion to pay their respects to the departed soldiers. A number of the councillors apologised for their absence, giving reasons in connection therewith which were accepted by the Mayor.
