At the wool sides merinos were very firm, Fine ami medium crossbreds were lli-m, and were chiefly bought for the Home trade. Shabby sorts were withdrawn. Slipcs and sconreds were unchanged. At the tallow sales 1401 casks were offered, and 507 sold, mostly at about a decline of (id. Fine mutton made 10!)/-, medium 101/-, flue beef J 15/(1. and medium 102/-. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. (lUc. Dalgcly and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London oflice, daled February !!:—Wool sales opened. There is a fair selection. As compared with closing rates of last sales, good merino wools are very firm, other descriptions of merino are occasionally slightly easier, line crossbred wools are very linn, and medium crossbreds are unchanged. Coarse crossbreds were neglected, and mostly withdrawn from sale. The New Zealand Loan ;\tu\ Mercantile Agencv Co., Ltd., have received a cablegram from London giving the undernoted market information, under dale February 10: Wool sales opened, fiood merino shows an upward tendency, others ."> per cent, lower. Market linn for line crossbred, others neglected.
