a There were good attendances again | yesterday at the Chautauqua marquee •at both sessions. At the evening session the whole of the available seating - accommodation was occupied. j The Lyric Quartet entertained with iglee and solo numbers, which were much I appreciated. At the evening session the speaker was .Judge T). Alden, who gave ja talk, entitled ".lack and the Beanstalk." The lecture provided the means of expression of opinions on many burnj ing questions of modern times. The .speaker stressed the fact that Capital 'and Labour must work together, as well for the public good as for the benefit of I both parties. ! This evening the Symphonic JQuintet are to contribute the musical rhalf of Iho programme, preceding !>r lA. ]>. Carpenter's lecture on "The Energy of the Universe."
