SEAMEN'S WAGES.
THE NEW AGREEMENT. Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 12. It is understood that the wages embodied in the new seamen's agreement are based on Australian rates as follow: A.8., £l4 per calendar month. A.B. employed as lamp-trimmer, £ls.' 0.5., under 18 years, £B;"over 18, £9 5/-. Boatswain, £ls. Trimmer, £l4. Greaser or fireman, £lfi. Fireman-greaser (on vessels carrying one engineer only), £l6 10/-. Donkeymnn, £l7. Storekeeper, £lO. Ordinary seamen, 21_ years of age and over, are treated as able seamen. The Dunedin Seamen's Union has endorsed the agreement come to at the Wellington conference last week.
