THE STUDEBAKER GEAR-BOX.

In Studebaker cars the gear-box is immediately behind the engine, securely fastened to tho main frame of the chassis. In this position it throws no unsprung weight on the rear axle, is unusually accessible, aud is operated directly by the control lever, without connecting rods. This method of construction is not only stronger, but lighter, than other arrangements. It makes a better distribution of weight, and driving shocks and tho strains of suddenly-applied brakes or a sudden acceleration of the motor aro most efficiently absorbed. Tho gear wheels are of tho finest chrome nickel steel, and the system of changing t'dooted ensures them a long | life. See tho Studebaker Exhibition at our High Street Showrooms.
