FIRE AT TRADALE.

Press Association. NAPIER, January 14. The Hawke's Hay Motor Company's branch stables at Taradale, the Taradale Hotel stables, a storeroom and j sheds and a cottage owned by Paul ! Hawkins, were totally destroyed by lire j early this morning. A favourable change of wind at an opportune moment saved half the town-1 ship from destruction. There w r as no I water supply. The stables were insured for £IOOO in the Royal Exchange Oilice, Hawkins's cottage" for £2OO, the hotel stables for £-100 in the Norwich Union. Sixty cords of firewood, four tons of hay and a large quantity of bran, oats, chaff, etc., were also burned. The cause of the fire is unknown.
