STRIKE STOPS SPORTSMEN. By Cable. —Pre** Association. — Copyright MELBOURNE, November 7. A West Australian contingent of sportsmen was held up by a strike on the overland railway. They offered the train crew £SOO to land them in time for the Melbourne Cup, but the crew refused, and they were compelled to return and make the journey by steamer. MELBOURNE NOTES.
