THE COAL TRADE. The Scottish Australian Mining Company state that owing to the serious interference with the coal trade due to the seamen's strike the company's accounts do not justify the payment of an interim dividend. WOOL AN fF PRODUCE. Tallow—lo3o casks were oiTcred and 999 sold at an average advance of 3/-. Mutton—loo/-. Beef—ll9/-. A small parcel of New Zealand rabbit skins was auctioned at 350 d per lb, a record. At the wool sales there was exceedingly keen competition in all classes at full recent prices. Yorkshire Downs made 89d, New Zealand Linton 42d, lid, Annedalc 39Jd, 39jd, Te Kunu 35d, 34jd.
CLEARING SALES. The National Mortgage and Agency Co. of New Zealand, Ltd., having sold Mr Q. Campbell Manson's Tcddington property, conducted a clearing sale on his account last. Owing to the farm being an original holding and sales being uncommon in the district, there was a particularly large attendance and bidding throughout was spirited. Four hundred and fifty ewes and lambs made 22/1 all counted, 100 dry ewes 35/-, 100 two and four-tooth wethers 39/3, 275 m.s. hoggets 32/-. Wcaner pigs 32/-, sows £3 15/-; porkers £3 19/6. Draught geldings £ls to £32; draught mares £l9 to £-10; light horses £9 10/- to £65, Eighty dairy cows and heifers, from £9 to £2O. Engine £59; discs £lO 10/-; D.F. ploughs £lO 10/-; chain harrows £lO. On Thursday last the same Arm conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr C. H. Edc, Hoi lesion. The attendance was good and bidding keen. Ewes and lambs made 20/-, dry cows £9 10/- to £l3 10/-; yearling cattle £0; draught geldings £lO to £29 10/-; draught mares £22 10/-. TO-DAY'S POULTRY MARKET. Messrs J. I). Merrett and Coy. report a fair entry of poultry to-day. Prices were firm, and all classrs of quality birds were in keen demand. Tabic chickens realised 8/0 to 18/-, ducks 6/6 to 14/0, hens 5/6 to 13/0, geese 11/- to 14/-, turkeys 17/- to 38/-, ali per pair. THE EGG MARKET. A good supply of eggs continues to come forward, and there is a good demand. Canterbury Egg Circle llrst grades are 1/9, seconds 1/8. Competition eggs realised by auction 1/9, ducks 1/8 per dozen.
