A Notable Display.
Merchants, carriers, farmers and all those interested in delivery carting and ploughing problems, will do well to inspect the display of international world-famed motor trucks and "Titan" farm tractors shown in the International Harvester Company's showroom in Cashel Street, and also at the stand in the marquee at the Olympia Motor Show at the Colosseum and at the New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. Co.'s stand at the Show Grounds. A few of the recent sales in New Zealand include the following:—Twenty-three to the New Zealand Farmers' Co-op., 2 to the Central Dairy Co., 2 to the Cheviot Motor Co., 1 to the Piopio Dairy Co., 1 to J. D. Mackay, Waihou, 7 to Neilson and Co., Dannevirke, 1 to the Canterbury Farmers* Co.-op. Timaru, 1 to G. Cross, Geraldine, 1 to Sefton Dairy Co. Over 10,000 of the "Titan" trac- • tors were sold to the British, French and Allied Governments during the $■ War. With the tractor is also shown an International three-furrow self-lift tractor plough. This plough,, with tractor, makes a complete one-man outfit. Self-lift cultivators, special tandem disc-harrows and binderhitches can be supplied. Special attention is called to the construction of the motor truck. The very latest type of sleeve-cylinder engine is used, with water-pump, magneto, carburettor, very accessible. The engine is three-point suspension. The gear-box is set in a frame by itself, and is not suspended on the end of the engine. The very latest "Torbensen" drive is used on the rear axle. A heavy drop-forged axle is used for carrying the load. Hea*y brakes, differential, are easily removed if necessary. Over 150 .inspectors test every part as it is made in the factory, and before a truck *- is passed finally, it must carry heavyloads over hills. It is equipped throughout wifh "Timken" and roller ball-bearings. The transmission is of the sliding-gear selec- _ s tive tvpe, three speeds and reverse. The clutch is dry-plate, multiple disc, asbestos lined. The tractor has a kerosene-burn-ing engine guaranteed to run on any low-grade fuel, and is of the slowrunning type, which means long life and efficiency. All wearing parts are protected from the dust by enclosure, and those subjected to any wear whatever are. heat-treated and case-hardened. These tractors are also subject to very rigid inspection before being shipped. The company, understanding more than any other concern the import- j , ancc-of repair parts, carries a full . line. Purchasers of "International" trucks and "Titan" tractors can always rely on being able to procure replacements. All visitors to Christchurch are cordially invited to call at 187 Cashel Street, the showroom of the International Harvester Co., where the most complete line of harvesting and tillage machines are shown, and also the well-known "New Zealandia" milker and "Primrose" cream separator. The New Zealand Government are alone using 10 "New Zealandias" and have not purchased any other kind for a number of years.
