There was a very large attendance at the National Mortgage and Agency Co. Land Salerooms, in Hereford Street, on Saturday, when the company submitted properties to auction on account of Mr J. R. Wallace. The Cust property, consisting of 607 acres, failed to find a purchaser at auction, but the property of 61 acres, situated near Halswell, met with keen competition. It was passed in at £IOO per acre, but was sold immediately at the conclusion of the sale to Mr Clark, of Little River, at a considerable advance on the passed-in price. Mr Wallace has an offer in hand for the lease of the Cust property, and if not sold during next few days this splendid farm will be leased for a" term of years. It is Mr Wallace's intention to hold a complete clearing sale of 3000 sheep, 50 head cattle, horses, working plant, on the Cust farm, during the next two weeks, when everything offered will be for absolute sale; as Mr Wallace intends leaving the Dominion in the near future. Full particulars of the clearing sale will be advertised in due course. .2
