FLOWER SHOW.
FINE DISPLAY AT RAKAIA; The Rakaia Horticultural Society is holding its autumn show in the Town Hall to-day. Under the direction of the society's energetic president (Mrs L. Holmes) and secretary (Mr C. Tucker) very-complete arrangements have been made for the convenience of exhibitors and visitors, so that the many exhibits are shown to the best advantage.
A noticeable feature of this year's show is the number and splendour of the exhibits of the collections of flowers classes. The judging of flowers, fruit, and vegetables was satisfactorily carried out by Mr D. C. Taylor, of Buxton's, Ltd. The exhibits in the miscellaneous section were judged J)y Mrs McDowell, of Ashburton. The prize-list is as under:—
