REVIVAL DECIDED ON. FIRST MEETING AT ANTWERP. By Cable — Press Association — Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Rcc. March C, 9.0) LONDON, March 5. The Brussels correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that the Olympic Games will shortly be held at Antwerp. The Government has voted a large sum for that purpose. [The revival ol the Olympic Games, the great athlctle carnival of Ancient Greece, which was held every four years (the term being Olympiad), took place as the result of a meeting held at Paris on June l(i, 1894. The first meeting was held at Athens in 1896. and meetings have since been held as follow:—Paris, 1900; St. Louis, 1904; London, 1908; and Stockholm, 1912. The Sixth Olympiad (modern) was to have been held at Berlin in 1916. Relying on certain authoritative opinions taken during the war period, several writers on the subject have expressed doubt as to whether the j Games would be held again for many years 1 to come, or whether Great Britain would ever again take part in them.]
