INQUESTS.
SUICIDE AT RICCARTON. '. An inquest was held yesterday by ' the District. Coroner, Mr T. A. B. 1 Bailey, on the body of James Sheate, I ' who had hanged himself yesterday I morning in a shed at the rear of his j ; house in 81 Division Road, Lower Riccarton. Evidence showed that deceased, who was a married man, 46 ; years of age, had been suffering from influenza. On Monday at 3.40 a.m. ' Agnes Mary Farmer attended him, but on her return at 6 a.m. he had disap--1 peared. The body was later found in the shed. A verdict of suicide while of ' unsound mind was returned. DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. The Coroner, Mr T. A. B. Bailey, held an inquest at- Burnham yesterday touching the death of Lucy Alice Parker. Deceased was 34 years of age. A few days ago she went to nurse her brother-, in-law who had contracted influenza. She herself was attacked, the disease i affecting her heart. Death due to heart failure following influenza was the verdict returned.
