He committed suicide by shooting himself. fA cable message received last Saturday stated“ Thomas Codon, a well-known mine-owner, alter making bis will, secured a rifle and shot dead four men— Bernard Thompson, ‘William Broom, Harold Smith, and William Brown —working in various claims at Mount ('colon goldfield. He told another man that he intended to shoot live or six more, and then himself. Coolon escaped into the hush, and is still at large. He was recently engaged in litigation over ♦nines, and it is believed that Isis mind is unhinged.”]
