WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20. MARAROA (8.30 a.m.), 2598 tons, Cameron, from Wellington. COASTAL. Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 19. Sailed.—Tenju Marti, for Fiji. OVERSEAS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, November 18. Sailed for Australia.—Suevie, Numeric, end Karori. NOTES. The sailing time of the Mararoa for Wellington to-night lias been fixed to take place nfter the arrival of the 6.55 p.m. train from Christchurch, instead of after the arrival of the 5.20 p.m. train. The port of Lyttelton has been unusually quiet lor the past few days, most of the regular traders being laid up at other ports on account of the influenza epidemic. Nor arc there any immediate prospects of matters improving. With the exception of an overseas vessel and the Rosamond, both of which are unladen, there arc no cargo carrying boats here at present. The ferry steamer Mararoa arrived here this morning with some 400 pasengers on board. The usual procedure was adopted as a precautionary measure against the influenza, the passengers on disembarking entering the inhalation chamber. There was no mail boat from Lyttelton to Wellington last night. The Government steamer Hinemoa was expected here yesterday morning, hut she was detained probably through Influenza causes. The malls will he conveyed to-night as usual by the ferry steamer Mararoa. The Moeraki has been delayed at Sydney ns some members of the crew declined to risk infection by coming to New Zealand, mid so signed oil' the ship’s articles, says the “Post.” The delay is unfortunate, as tire whole city was eagerly awaiting the citrus fruits which the steamer is almost sure to bring as part of her cargo. The Moeraki may reach Wellington about Friday, but the Union Company is unable to make a definite Statement at present. The refitting of the. Union Company’s barque Gladbrook (formerly the County of Angiesea), it is expected, will be completed at Port Chalmers in about a fortnight. Afterwards cargo will be taken in for San Francisco. Very few of the Northern Company’s steamers are running, says an exchange, owing to the difliculty in manning the vessels.
