Sir Douglas Haig reports: — The 2nd and 4th Armies, under Generals Plumer and Rawlinson, yesterday advanced in accordance with the terms of the armistice, in conjunction with the armies of the Allies. Our advance reached an approximate line Corfontaine-Pry-Biesmes-Pieton-Lalouviers-Soigny-Enghien-southward of Ninove. A French communique states: —- The French yesterday advanced over the evacuated regions, and crossed the frontier on the whole front of Belgium and the annexed provinces. Not a single enemy was left on the national territory. The liberated populations were everywhere most enthusiastic. We occupied Bouillon and Sedan and reached Oarignan. We entered Gravelotte forts, south of Metz, and also Morhange, Dieuze, Donon, Schirmeck, Colmar, Eechicourt, Chateau-Salins, Munster, Cernay, and Altkirch. General Hirschauer solemnly entered Mulhouse, and was given an ovation by the population. A BRILLIANT CAVALCADE MOVES FORWARD. (A. & N.Z.) (Ree. November 19, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, November 17. Mr Philip Gibhs says; — The march on the Rhine began on a keen frosty morning, with a cavalry screen. - The first horses were well groomed. Lancers flying pennons then filed past, and then artillery and infantry, the guns carrying flags. They looked fit to participate in a tournament. The gunners had spent a whole week polishing for the march.
