DEFICIENCY OF £607. The St. Martin's special rating are:) accounts for the year ending Marrh HI, 1918, are open for inspection at the Tramways Board's offices by ratepayers of the district. The earnings for the year amounted to £2178 4/9, compared with £2078 last year. The operating expenses amounted to £l7o;>, as against £H>l7 the previous year. The amount set aside for depreciation this year was £2OO and for renewals £240, compared with £292 provided for these purposes in each instance last year. The allowance for free use of central assets in both years was £lOl, and the debit balance transferred to the net revenue account was £;>, compared with £2.'i for the previous year. To this must be added £661 for interest and £7.'! sinking fund charges, making a total of £7:io,' minus £132 allowance from the central area, leaving the rate to be levied on 1 lie St. Martin's area £607, compared with £t>:U last year.
