A ROLL OF HONOUR.

UNVEILED AT SPRINGSTON. The Springston Public Hall was crowded on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the unveiling of the Springs Patriotic Association's Roll of Honour, and for the purpose of welcoming home Privates A. M 'Gregor, A. Bowen, S. Lugg, T. Kimber, E. Taylor, C. Newman, H. Marshall and L. Cooper from active service.

An excellent programme I was supplied by the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association's Choral Society-, under the baton of Mr Jamieson, solo items being given by Misses Goodchild, Sproston and Toon, and by Messrs Bartlett and McClure. The Eoll of Honour was unveiled by the Hon. C. A. C. Hardy, M.L.C., who also presented medals to Private A. M'Gregor and Private T. Kimber. There were also medals for LaneeCorporal L. Cooper and Troopers S. Lugg and M'Poulton, all of whom had not received the gift before leaving the district. A short address was delivered by Mr I. Andrew, chairman of the County Council, and on the motion of Mr J. W. Kime, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the Choral Society, and the owners of the five cars that had motored the party out. On behalf of the Choral -Society, Mr Jamieson presented a silver-mounted baton to Mr Kitto, who had brought the members together and trained them. The roll of honour bears the following names:— E.
