League, it was seriously urged by one impassioned member that all married men in camp should be liberated each week from Friday night till Monday morning. Another, no less ardently, declared in connection with the demand for £2 2/- a week that our wives "should be free to enjoy life" in our unfortunate absence. There was some laughter—but not much.
