The Minister of Defence has received advice that the 35th Reinforcement has arrived safely at its destination.

There is still no trace of Eobert Dicksou Warden, alias Eobert Lawrence, who escaped from the Paparua Prison on Monday morning.

Always a popular conclusion to the annual festival of the Christchaivh Competitions and Literary Society are the demonstration concerts, and last evening's function proved no exception to the rule, the King's Theatre being packed by a large audience, when a splendid programme was rendered by the prize-winners at the recent competitions.
