BURNHAM CAMP.

The conclusion of the fourth period at the Buruham Territorial camp was! marked by a camp concert which was held on Monday night. During th'jj evening, Major W. 0. Morrison, the camp commandant, presented the prizes in the tent competition as follows: First prize, £2, Company Sergeant-Major A.; Sutton, 2nd South Canterbury; second prize, Private F. N. Blewan, lath (North Canterbury and Weatland) Regiment-; third prize, 12/-, Corporal H. Fayen, 13th Regiment. One of the most successful items of the concert was a mock co'urt convened by the N.C.O.'s in; camp. All the staff sergeant-majors; were up "on the mat," charged with; the perpetration of various crimes which, in the opinion of the prosecutors, warranted immediate retribution. Among the offences were: Growing a moustache without the consent of hisj squad; turning out to a night alarm; with gum boots on back to front, Various penalties were inflicted by the* judge, Major Morrison, and altogether! the function provided a pleasing cuter-; tainment. On Tuesday the troops returned t-> their homes. The fifth and last period commenced to-day. There is only a small nuuibor of Canterbury details, Ist M.R. (C.Y.C.), No. li Field Ambulance, and A.S.C. This camp will conclude on April i>o.
