MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TO-DAY'S CASES. Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court this morning. Theft and Drunkenness.—John Burke, alias O'Brien, alias Maloney, was charged with the theft of an overcoat, ami with being found drunk. Be pleaded guilty to l>oth charges, saying that he did not know what he was doing when he was drunk. The Mngis trate said there were 48 previous convictions against him. Accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Theft.—Walter Bacon pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing 21/-, the property of Albert Shaw. Be was committed to tlie Salvation Army Home, and ordered to refund the money. Drunk in Charge of Horse and Cart.— Christian Meyerhoff was fined 20/- on a charge of being found drunk in charge of a horse and cart. Breaches of Prohibition Orders.— Charles William Hill (Mr J. A. Cassidy) charged, on two informations, with breaking his prohibition order, was lined 20/- on one charge, and convicted and discharged on the other. Change of Address. —John Ethelbert Bradley pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to notify a change of address as required by the Military Service Act. He said thp.t it was an oversight. A fine of 20/- and costs was imposed. Failing to Enrol.—John Joseph Cosgrove (Mr F. K. Hunt) was charged with failing to enrol under the Military Service Act. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment.
