BURNHAM CAMP.
The fourth period of the training operations at the Territorial camp at Burnham was concluded yesterday, and to-day the troops in camp will return. The first and last period of the camp, which is expected to be a very small one, will commence to-day. Tho period just concluded has been a very successful one, the rain of Friday and Saturday being insufficient to interfere with either the training or the comfort of the men. The camp has beeu remarkably free from sickness, only one man having had to be sent home on this account last week.
Entertainments have been numerous, two picture shows and a performance by a concert party arranged by the Y.M.C.A. having been given during the week, while on Wednesday evening Captain Pettit, N.Z.M.C, delivered an illustrated lecture.
A return football match between teams representing the North and South Canterbury men was played on Friday afternoon, but the game resulted in a draw, without score by either side.
