BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPREYDON. The Spreydon Borough Council mel last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr W. H. Winsor) and Crs E. O'Bourke, G. IT. Budd, A. E. Brewer. E. H. Clark, P. J. Diack, W. K. Gabagan, and A. Manhire. The Tramways Board wrote, enclosing a cheque for £IOOO on temporary loan to the council, the charge to be 3 per cent. The Health Department wrote, notifying a case of infectious disease in the borough, and drawing attention to a nuisance arising from a defective culvert. The matter was referred to the Works Committee. The Mayor reported on the conference of local bodies' representatives, held to consider the question of establishing a pound. The Works Committee reported that it had decided to procure .a stock of tar for lloating footpaths. The report was adopted. The Finance Committee reported that the receipts since the previous mooting amounted to £5Ol 2/-, the district fund account was in debit to the amount of £2538 1/8, and the electric light account debit £B4 0/11. The loan interest account was in credit to the amount of £3 3/-, and the pit account to the amount of £2B 14/5. Accounts for £491 1/4 were passed for payment.
