CYGNET (Gj p.m.), 121 tons, Murray, for Kaikoura. WOOTTON (6.15 p.m.), 150 tons, Larson, for Wellington. MONOWAI (7.55 p.m.), 3-133 tons, Dre wette, for Wellington.
NOTES. The harbourmaster at Timaru (Captain J. Tait) reported at the last meeting of the Timaru Harbour Board that during September the arrivals were 22 steamers, with an aggregate of 11,822 tons, and the departures were 20 steamers, with an aggregate of 114)13 tons. No casual labour had been employed since last report. The resident engineer reported that up to the present 170 ft of new wharf had been constructed and 190 ft of the old work dismantled and removed. When the work was put in hand It was intended to rebuild about 210 ft of the oldest part of the wharf, and it is expected to have this section completed about the end of next month.
